Erythrite Crystal is concentrated in the north-east of Hagga Basin, around the CHOAM mining sites. The best spot is CHOAM Mineral Extraction Facility #4 (36 nodes nearby), with the cave Crystal Cove (22) right next to it, then Facilities #6 and #7. A Cutteray Mk2 is enough to mine it. The Deep Desert has only a handful of nodes.

Hagga Basin has about 160 Erythrite nodes, plus even more loose crystals you can pick up by hand. In the Deep Desert it shows up only in a few Forgotten Caves.

CHOAM Mineral Extraction Facility #4 and Crystal Cove

The best Erythrite field on the map. The facility and the cave are neighbours, so together they give almost 60 nodes in one stop. The facility is an enemy outpost, so clear the guards or mine from the edge.

20 nodes. Facility #5 and the Northern Bunker are close by and add 16 more.

Two sites next to each other, with 16 and 14 nodes. A good middle stop between #4 and #6.

Where to find Erythrite Crystal in the Deep Desert

In the Deep Desert, Erythrite shows up only inside Forgotten Caves, a few nodes per cave. The map changes every week, so use the live finder rather than old coordinates:

Don't fly to the Deep Desert for Erythrite: Hagga has ten times as much.

What you need to mine Erythrite Crystal

  • Cutteray Mk2, crafted at any Fabricator from 10 Iron Ingots and 7 EMF Generators. Lower cutterays can't cut the nodes.
  • Loose crystals on the ground need no tool.
  • Weapons and armor for the CHOAM facilities: they are guarded labor camps.

Iron for the cutteray comes from iron ore.

What Erythrite Crystal is used for

Erythrite has one recipe: Cobalt Paste, made at a chemical refinery.

RefineryErythriteTimeWater
Small Chemical Refinery315 s75 ml
Medium Chemical Refinery210 s75 ml

Cobalt Paste is one of the most-used materials in the game. You need it for:

  • Cutteray Mk3 (10 paste), Mk4 (11) and Mk5;
  • the Medium Ore Refinery (45 paste) and the Spice Refinery (60);
  • sandbike parts from Mk3, buggy parts from Mk4, and Mk5–Mk6 ornithopter parts;
  • all advanced fabricators (110 each).

Farming tips

  • Start at Facility #4 and Crystal Cove, then work west through #7 and the Southwest Bunker to #6.
  • Pick up the loose crystals too: there are more of them than nodes.
  • The same Cutteray Mk2 also cuts Carbon Ore for steel, so plan one trip that fills both.
  • Build a Small Chemical Refinery early (45 Copper Ingots). It refines Erythrite, but costs one extra crystal per paste.
Where is the best place to farm Erythrite Crystal?

CHOAM Mineral Extraction Facility #4 and the cave Crystal Cove next to it, in north-east Hagga Basin: about 58 nodes together.

What Cutteray do I need for Erythrite?

A Cutteray Mk2 (10 Iron Ingots and 7 EMF Generators at a Fabricator).

Is there Erythrite in the Deep Desert?

A little, only inside Forgotten Caves. Hagga Basin has about ten times as much.

What is Erythrite used for?

Only for Cobalt Paste: 2 crystals per paste at a Medium Chemical Refinery or 3 at a Small one.
