The Landsraad in Dune Awakening is a weekly contest between Atreides and Harkonnen guilds for the votes of 25 Great Houses. The first faction to reach 70,000 points with a House wins its vote. The winning side's guild leaders then pick one of three server-wide decrees, and you earn personal rewards from each House Representative.

The current decree and the timer to the next weekly reset are on our live overview page.

How to unlock the Landsraad

  1. Join a faction. You do not choose Atreides or Harkonnen at character creation. The faction questline starts at Griffin's Reach and leads to The Anvil tradepost, where the two sponsors wait: Anton Tolliver for House Atreides and Maxim Kazmir for House Harkonnen. They stand a few steps apart, so you can hear both offers before you choose.
  2. Be in a guild. The Landsraad works through guilds aligned with a faction. If you play solo, create a one-person guild. Guild membership is what lets your missions count.
  3. Climb your faction's ranks. Faction rank comes from promotion quests rather than grinding. As you climb, you unlock Landsraad missions and faction vendors. Later promotions send you to Thufir Hawat in Arrakeen (Atreides) or Piter de Vries in Harko Village (Harkonnen). Both hubs also have a Rank 2 faction vendor.

How the Landsraad works each week

  • The board. The 25 Houses sit on a 5×5 board, split into five blocs of five. A new term opens every week, in step with the Deep Desert reset (see the Coriolis storm guide).
  • Missions. Each House posts tasks: deliver materials, kill specific enemies, explore or harvest. Faction quartermasters hand out more work. The Atreides Quartermaster is at Helius Gate and the Harkonnen Quartermaster is at Riftwatch. Check the board right after the weekly reset and start with deliveries of materials you already have stockpiled: they are the quickest points.
  • Unusual deliveries. Some missions ask for odd items. The Sample Recovery mission, for example, wants sandworm tissue. See the sandworm guide.
  • Contribution. Every completed mission adds Landsraad Contribution for your faction with that House. The first faction to reach 70,000 contribution with a House wins its vote for the term.
  • Control points. In the Deep Desert, standing inside an active control point also earns contribution for players who are physically present.

How the decree is voted

A faction wins the term if it either claims five Houses in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally) or holds more Houses than the other side when voting starts. Only guild leaders of the winning faction vote. They choose one of three randomized decrees. The decree stays in force until the end of the session, shortly before the next weekly reset.

Decrees seen so far include exclusive access to a Tool, Armor, Weapon or Vehicle vendor, CHOAM production and refining contracts, bonus ranged or melee damage, a large experience boost, and Right of Salvage, which makes players drop their equipped and carried items when defeated in the Deep Desert. That last one changes how you should gear up for PvP, so check the decree on /overview before a Deep Desert run.

Landsraad rewards

Rewards are personal. Your own contribution unlocks them, whether or not your faction wins the vote. Each House has five reward tiers at 700, 3,500, 7,000, 10,500 and 14,000 contribution. You claim them from that House's representative at any time, and earned tiers stay earned across terms. The tiers range from Solari and crafting components to unique schematics and a cosmetic swatch at the top. The rewards rotate, so read the House's list before you pick which Houses to work for this week.

Where to find House representatives

Every House has a representative NPC where you claim rewards. Most stand at tradeposts, fortresses and wrecks you pass anyway, so claim tiers on trips you are already making. Several Houses have more than one representative, and some appear only in the Deep Desert near control points.

Tradepost representatives

The easiest ones to reach are at tradeposts you already visit: Argosaz at Griffin's Reach, Taligari at the Crossroads, Tseida at The Anvil and Sor at Pinnacle Station.

Atreides or Harkonnen: which to join?

In raw power the two sides are essentially equal. Neither gets better stats, weapons or crafting. The differences are elsewhere:

  • Look. Each side has its own building set, faction furniture and armor, so the choice also decides how your base and character look.
  • Hubs and quest givers. Atreides work runs through Helius Gate and Arrakeen (Duke Leto, Thufir Hawat). Harkonnen work runs through Riftwatch and Harko Village (Piter de Vries, Glossu Rabban).
  • Your server. Decrees go to the side that wins the board. On many servers one faction is clearly bigger.

Which house to join solo

If you play alone, base the choice on convenience, not lore. Personal Landsraad rewards come from your own contribution, so a solo player earns them on either side. Pick the faction whose fortress and quartermaster are closest to your base: Helius Gate if you live near the Shield Wall and Pinnacle Station, Riftwatch if you live near The Anvil and the Ironworks. Use best base locations to see where that leaves you. If you want a say in decrees, join an active guild of the larger faction. Browse guilds on Sandwalkers.

How do I unlock the Landsraad in Dune Awakening?

Finish the faction questline at The Anvil to join Atreides or Harkonnen, then join or create a guild. Landsraad missions open as you climb your faction's ranks.

How is the Landsraad decree chosen?

The faction that claims five Houses in a row, or more Houses than its rival, wins the term. Its guild leaders then vote for one of three random decrees.

How many points does a House need?

The first faction to reach 70,000 contribution with a House wins that House's vote. Personal reward tiers are at 700, 3,500, 7,000, 10,500 and 14,000.

Where is the House Maros representative?

In Hagga Basin, next to the House Ecaz representative by The Gasp cave, near Riftwatch. Another Maros representative appears in the Deep Desert.

Should I join Atreides or Harkonnen solo?

Neither side has a power advantage. Pick the one whose fortress is closer to your base, or the side with the more active guilds on your server.
