How to Make Solari in Dune Awakening

Make Solari by looting containers on a loop, selling to tradepost vendors, doing contracts and selling spice and gear to players. Best loot spots on the map.

The fastest way to make Solari in Dune Awakening is a loot loop: clear containers at outposts, wrecks and Imperial Testing Stations, then sell the extra loot to tradepost vendors. On top of that, take contracts, claim Landsraad rewards, and once you have a refinery, sell Spice Melange and crafted gear to other players.

Hagga Basin is full of containers that can hold Solari, and most of them pay out every time. The trick is to visit many of them in one short route, then come back once they have refilled instead of searching for new spots.

Best places to farm Solari in Hagga Basin

These places have the most Solari containers around them, so they are the richest stops:

Mendek's Shithole and Testing Station No. 163

The richest Solari stop on the map, and Imperial Testing Station No. 163 is right next to it. Clear both in one trip. The station also drops Particle Capacitors and Advanced Servoks, which sell well and which you need yourself. See the Imperial Testing Stations guide.

Northwest Ironworks and the Wreck of the Pallas

These make a strong mid-game loop. The Ironworks also drops Complex Machinery, and the Wreck of the Pallas is a short ride away.

Sentinel City

Sentinel City is a large outpost with 24 Solari containers and plenty of guards. Bring Steel-tier gear.

How to sell items to vendors

Every tradepost has a merchant, and so do the social hubs Arrakeen and Harko Village. Open the trade window and sell from your backpack. Keep these rules in mind:

  • Prices follow supply and demand. Dumping fifty of the same item at one post drives the price down. Spread sales across items and tradeposts.
  • Some posts pay more for certain item types. Check prices at Griffin's Reach, The Anvil, the Crossroads and Pinnacle Station when you pass through.
  • Repair before you sell. A damaged weapon or vehicle part sells for less than a repaired one.
  • Sell the junk, keep the components. Weapons and armor from NPC camps are vendor fodder. Old Imperial components such as Particle Capacitors and Advanced Servoks go into a huge share of mid- and late-game recipes, so keep a stack or sell them to players for far more.

Contracts and quests that pay Solari

  • Contract boards at tradeposts. Griffin's Reach has one, and taking a contract is manual. Contracts pay Solari and XP and often send you to places you would loot anyway.
  • Faction contracts. After you join Atreides or Harkonnen, faction contracts and Landsraad missions open up. Read the Landsraad guide.
  • Story and side quests. Several questlines pay five-figure Solari rewards. Do them as you meet them instead of skipping the dialogue.
  • Landsraad tiers. Each House's reward tiers include Solari. Personal contribution counts for these even if your faction loses the vote.

Selling spice for Solari

Spice is the long-term money maker. Spice Sand is refined into Spice Melange:

RefinerySpice Sand inMelange outResidueTimeWater
Spice Refinery10015180 s750 ml
Medium Spice Refinery7501075450 s7,000 ml
Large Spice Refinery10,0002001,0002,700 s75,000 ml

Melange goes into almost every Mk6 vehicle part and many other endgame recipes. A Mk6 buggy chassis alone takes 55 Melange, and a Mk6 scout ornithopter thruster takes 63. Endgame players always need it, which is why spice sells. The Large Spice Refinery needs only 50 sand per Melange, against 75 in the medium one and 100 in the basic one, so a guild refinery pays off quickly. Farming routes and fields are in how to farm spice. Mind the sandworms: spice fields lie on open sand.

Selling to players: the Exchange and the Sandwalkers market

The CHOAM Exchange in Arrakeen and Harko Village is the in-game auction house. You set a price, and the Solari arrive when someone buys. Rare schematics, unique gear, Mk5–Mk6 modules, Melange and Spice Sand are the items that sell for real money there.

Outside the game, post buy and sell offers on the Sandwalkers market. It is a board where players on your server find each other for big trades, such as a stack of Melange, a Mk6 part or a carrier delivery, without camping the Exchange.

Mistakes that cost Solari

  • Dying with a full backpack. A sandworm or a PvP death in the Deep Desert can take everything you carry. Bank your loot at base between runs.
  • Selling components you will need next tier. Buying Particle Capacitors back later costs more than you got for them.
  • Ignoring repair costs. Worn gear sells for less than repaired gear. Repair at base, where the materials are at hand, before you sell.
  • Leaving vehicles out. A buggy left on the sand overnight or in the Deep Desert at the weekly reset is Solari thrown away. See the Coriolis storm guide.

Solari farming tips

  • Build near your loop. A base close to two or three rich outposts turns a loot run into a ten-minute circuit. See best base locations.
  • Bring a vehicle with storage. Loot fills a backpack fast, and every trip back to base costs time.
  • Clear testing stations with a friend. Station containers hold Solari plus components worth more than the coins.
  • Do not overspend early. Fast travel between hubs and guild costs add up. Once you have an ornithopter, travel costs only fuel. See how to get an ornithopter.
  • Check the decree. Some Landsraad decrees unlock extra vendors or boost XP. See what is active this week on /overview.
What is the fastest way to make Solari in Dune Awakening?

Run a loot loop through outposts, wrecks and testing stations, sell the extra gear to tradepost vendors, and do contracts on the way. Later, selling Spice Melange and Mk5–Mk6 gear to players pays the most.

Where is the best place to farm Solari?

Mendek's Shithole next to Imperial Testing Station No. 163 has the most Solari containers in Hagga Basin. The Wreck of the Pallas, Northwest Ironworks and Sentinel City follow.

Why do vendors pay less over time?

Vendor prices follow supply and demand. Selling many of the same item at one tradepost lowers the price, so spread your sales.

Is selling spice worth it?

Yes. Melange goes into nearly every Mk6 vehicle part and many other endgame recipes, so endgame players always buy it.

Where can I sell items to other players?

At the CHOAM Exchange in Arrakeen and Harko Village. You can also post offers on the Sandwalkers market to find buyers on your server.
