The Scourge is a limited-time event in Dune Awakening that runs from 23 October to 2 November 2026. Talk to Frida Maltros at any tradepost or in Arrakeen, collect infected eyeballs and mutated brain tissue for her and Dr. Shaffat, then kill Patient Zero, Captain Grobian, in the Wreck of the Hieronymus. Enemy blood earns Blood Marks for the event shop.

Your first contract, "Are You Infected?", comes from a pamphlet signed by Frida Maltros, assistant to Doctor Shaffat. Ask about the infection at any tradepost or in Arrakeen. Frida sets up in a Suk medical tent at one of the Hagga Basin tradeposts, such as The Anvil or the Crossroads, and she also works at Shaffat's clinic in Arrakeen. Then learn about blood deliveries, and the event is running.
Blood Marks: how to earn and spend them
Blood Marks are the event currency. Extract blood from enemies the usual way, with a blood extractor and blood sacks, then use "Deposit blood (gain Blood Marks)" or "Deposit all blood (gain Blood Marks)" at the blood collection point next to Frida. Finished contracts pay Blood Marks too. Spend them on the event's macabre cosmetics and base decorations.
Players report that event rewards are character-bound, not shared across your account, so farm on the character that will use them.

Phase 2: mutated brain tissue
Some infected have mutated into a stronger, more violent second stage. Look for enemies named "Scourged Infected", for example the Scourged Infected Kirab Slicer or the Scourged Infected Maas Kharet Zealot.
Phase 3: Patient Zero in the Wreck of the Hieronymus
Fastest way through The Scourge
- Combine blood and samples. Every infected you kill for eyeballs or brain tissue is also blood for Blood Marks. Carry empty blood sacks, and craft the largest ones you can so you stop to deposit less often.
- Do the three regions in one loop. Vermillius Gap (Kirab), Jabal Eifrit (slavers and deserters), then the Shield Wall (Sandflies and Maas Kharet). An ornithopter makes this one trip.
- Stay alert in the open. The infection spreads among bandits, but the usual dangers remain. Check the Coriolis storm timer and watch for sandworms.
Common problems and fixes
- I can't find Frida Maltros. Check every tradepost in Hagga Basin and Arrakeen. Her tent appears at one random tradepost, so if you can't spot it quickly, go to Shaffat's clinic in Arrakeen.
- The medical tent or contract props are missing. At launch, some Sietches didn't render them. Switch to another Sietch in your World.
- No new contracts. The epidemic is time-gated. Finish the current phase, then come back on a later day.
- Eyeballs don't drop. Only infected enemies drop them, and only the right faction counts for each contract.

Should I give Phrakk the tissue sample?
It's an optional step before you return to Dr. Shaffat. The contract finishes either way once you deliver the sample to her.
