Where to Find Holtzman Actuator in Dune Awakening

Holtzman Actuators are easy to find: 106 of the 110 sources in Hagga Basin hold one at a 100 % chance. The richest spots are Hand of Khidr (5 containers) and Sentinel City, The Anomaly, Iri's Haunt, Hidden Eyrie and The Tip (3 each). In the Deep Desert, look in the Forgotten Caves. No special tools needed.

This is a tier-1 component, but the high-tier recipes eat a lot of them. A Holtzman Shield Mk5 alone takes 40. That is why you farm it in bulk even late in the game.

Where to find Holtzman Actuators in Hagga Basin

The actuator does not only sit in chests. Of the 110 sources, 32 are bodies you can loot: 15 Kirab and 11 scavenger corpses, plus a few Atreides and Harkonnen ones. One light ornithopter wreck also holds it. The only weak spots are the Wreck of the Mithra (34.4 %) and one Enemy Camp nearby (19 %).

Sentinel City

A labor outpost with 3 guaranteed containers. It's a good stop if you also farm other loot there.

The Anomaly

A landmark with 3 guaranteed containers.

Iri's Haunt, Hidden Eyrie and The Tip

Three caves with 3 containers each. Hidden Eyrie and The Tip are a short hop apart.

Where to find Holtzman Actuators in the Deep Desert

This week the actuator drops in 40 containers. Forgotten Caves are the best: 12 caves with 28 containers, up to 100 % per chest. The named Wreck of the Stasanor and Wreck of the Hicetas have one container each at 100 %. Unrecovered Shipwrecks are a poor choice here, at 0.2 %. The map changes every week, so use the live finder instead of fixed coordinates.

The separate Smuggler's Run location also has 12 containers at 100 %.

What Holtzman Actuators are used for

The actuator goes into 36 recipes:

• Vehicle boosters and thrusters (Mk2–Mk5), at the Vehicles Fabricator. A Buggy Booster takes 23 at Mk4 and 30 at Mk5. A Scout or Assault Ornithopter Thruster Mk5 takes 30. A Treadwheel Boost Mk4 takes 30.
• Suspensor belts: Leap (8), Planar (12), Full (12), Responsive Planar (15).
• The Emperor's Wings Mk2–Mk5: 9, 14, 14 and 18.
• Holtzman Shield: 15 at Mk3, 40 at Mk5.
• Improved Holtzman Actuator (tier 6): 3 actuators, 2 Plasteel Plates and 1 Cobalt Paste at the Advanced Survival Fabricator.

Farming tips

• Plan a loop through Hand of Khidr, The Anomaly and the three caves. Every container there is guaranteed.
• Containers refill over time. Alternate between Hand of Khidr and the caves so one side has restocked by the time you come back.
• Search the bodies. Kirab and scavenger corpses count as sources, so a fight in a camp often pays off twice.
• In the Deep Desert, Forgotten Caves also drop EMF Generators and Plasteel Plate, so one run fills several lists.
• Watch for sandworms when you cross open sand between caves. Read the sandworm guide before long trips.
