Where to Find Plasteel Plate in Dune Awakening

Plasteel Plate drops only in the Deep Desert. The best sources are Unrecovered Shipwrecks, Forgotten Caves and Buried Testing Stations, where the top chests hold it at a 92.4 % chance. Hagga Basin has none. You need it for every tier-6 component: each of its 18 recipes takes 2 plates.

Plasteel Plate is the key to tier 6. Every upgraded component, such as Advanced Machinery or the Tri-Forged Hydraulic Piston, combines a lower-tier part with 2 plates at the Advanced Survival Fabricator. So before you start on endgame gear, plan your Deep Desert runs.

Where to find Plasteel Plate in the Deep Desert

This week, 162 containers drop it:

The odds depend on the chest, not on the site:

• ultra-rare chests (large and small): 92.4 %;
• rare chests: 72.1 %;
• medical crates: 72.1 % or 35.4 %;
• ordinary, ammo and most primitive containers: 35.4 %.

That makes a big wreck worth a full clear. Even the ordinary chests drop a plate about once in three tries.

Unrecovered Shipwrecks

The main source: 104 of the 162 containers. A large wreck holds up to 13 containers, so one site can give several plates.

Forgotten Caves

Fewer containers (up to 5 per cave), but caves sit in rock, where sandworms cannot reach you. They also drop Holtzman Actuators and EMF Generators.

Buried Testing Stations

Only 5 containers across three stations. Loot them if one is on your route.

Outside the Deep Desert, the separate Wreck of the Tyche location has 21 containers at up to 72.1 %. The Ruins of Tsimpo have one container at 35.4 %.

What Plasteel Plate is used for

All 18 recipes are tier-6 upgrades at the Advanced Survival Fabricator. Each takes 2 plates:

Weapon parts round out the list: Plasteel Composite Gun Parts, Plasteel Composite Blade Parts, Carbide and Diamondine blade parts, and the two Fluted Caliber Compressors.

Farming tips

• Bring a vehicle with storage and enough water. Wrecks are far apart, and the trip back is long.
• The Deep Desert allows PvP, and wrecks attract other players. Go in a group, or loot fast and leave.
• Open the ultra-rare and rare chests first. If someone shows up and you have to leave, you've already taken the best rolls.
• Watch the Coriolis storm timer and keep moving on open sand because of sandworms.
