Where to Find Irradiated Slag in Dune Awakening

Irradiated Slag drops only in Hagga Basin, mostly in the shipwrecks in and around Sheol, the irradiated zone. The Wreck of the Ourea alone has 24 containers at a 100 % chance. Next come the wrecks of the Euporia, Delphis, Leto and Tartarus. Wear a Radiation Suit and carry Iodine Pills, because staying in the zone unprotected will kill you.

Head straight for the Ourea: it has more slag chests than all the other wrecks put together. Fly in and park right next to the wreck, so you spend as little time in the radiation as possible.

Where to find Irradiated Slag in Hagga Basin

In total there are 58 sources: 39 chests in the wrecks at 100 %, 18 chests in nine Harkonnen camps at 87.9 %, and one Sandfly body. The slag does not drop in the Deep Desert. The only other source is the separate Wreck of the Tyche location (18 containers at 100 %).

Wreck of the Ourea

The main farm: 24 guaranteed containers in one wreck. One full clear here beats a tour of every other site.

Wreck of the Delphis (Aft and Fore)

The two halves of the Delphis lie apart. The aft section has 3 containers and the fore section has 2.

Wrecks of the Euporia, Leto and Tartarus

Four, three and three containers. Use them to top up after the Ourea.

What protection you need against radiation

Radiation builds up while you stay in an irradiated area. When the meter fills, you die. It drains slowly once you leave. The game has these counters:

• Radiation Suit Mk4: Aluminum Ingot ×27, Plasteel Microflora Fiber ×15 and Silicone Block ×20 at the Garment Fabricator.
• Radiation Suit Mk5 and Mk6, and the unique Tactical Radiation Suit: the higher tiers protect better.
• Iodine Pill: 5 pills from 2 Agave Seeds, 1 Duraluminum Ingot and 2 Spice Melange (130 ml water) at the Survival Fabricator. Use them together with the suit to clear radiation faster.

The same wrecks also drop Mechanical Parts at 100 %, so one trip in the suit fills two lists.

What Irradiated Slag is used for

Slag is a tier-5 component with four recipes:

Spice-infused Fuel Cells also need 30 Fuel Cells and 48 Spice Residue per batch (see fuel cells). The Irradiated Core adds 2 Plasteel Plates and 1 Duraluminum Ingot.

Farming tips

• Craft the suit before you go, and keep a stack of pills on your hotbar.
• Clear the Ourea first, then leave the zone to let your radiation drain before you hit the smaller wrecks.
• The Harkonnen camps have lower odds (87.9 %) and armed guards. Hit them only if they are on your way.
• Count batches in the crafting calculator. Each Power Pack Mk5 takes 12 slag.
