Contents
ID bands are the keycards of Dune Awakening. The game has exactly six: Blue, Green, Orange, Purple, Red and White ID Band. Each opens the pentashield door of its own colour, and you almost always pick it up inside the same building: a testing station, a shipwreck or an enemy outpost. There are no number codes for these doors.
How ID bands work
- Same colour, same place. A Blue door is opened by a Blue band, and that band is somewhere in the same station, wreck or outpost. Look for the prompt "Pick up Identification Band".
- There is no Yellow band. If someone tells you about a yellow keycard (at the Wreck of the Mithra or Testing Station No. 2), look for the Orange ID Band.
- Bands belong to the run. If you come back after the instance resets, the door is locked again: pick the band up again.
- Cutteray doors are a different lock. Sealed metal doors are cut open with a Cutteray; only the glowing pentashields need a band. Bring a Cutteray to every station and wreck: many bands lie behind a sealed door.
- Some bands come after the boss. In Testing Station No. 2, the last band opens a locked room on your way out.
- Watch for orange light. Orange-lit walls and bookshelves mark secret doors in stations No. 2, 29 and 71.

Where to find Blue ID Bands
Blue is the most common band. You find it at the three Ironworks (Southwest, Southeast, Northwest), in Suk Alusus by Mirzabah, at Aren's Refuge, at the Wreck of the Mithra, around Mysa Tarill, at Shaitan's Respite, House of Fiqh and House of Ilm (O'odham), Taqwa's Watch and Mendek's Shithole, near Testing Station No. 142, and in and around the Hagga Rift at Rift Hideout, Abernath's Descent, The Stairway, The Spiral and Barracks #47. Shipwreck-type Blue bands sit in the wrecks of the Tisiphone, Alecto and Limos, and one more near Khidr's Shadow.
A few exact spots: in Suk Alusus the band is in the first chamber on the right; in Shaitan's Respite and the O'odham Houses it lies on a table next to the intel room; at The Stairway it is at the bottom of the cargo shaft, opposite the locked door. In the Wreck of the Limos, one Blue band opens two doors.
Where to find Purple ID Bands
Purple guards the best rooms in testing stations. Purple bands are at Testing Stations No. 60, 71, 142, 163 and 197, the outposts Shield Wall Command, The Aegis and Passage of Artemis, Sentinel City, Northeast Bunker, Hand of Khidr, Way Out East, Northwest Ironworks and Aren's Refuge, plus the wrecks of the Pallas, Ourea and Alcyon and one more shipwreck-type band near Khidr's Shadow.
Where to find Green ID Bands
Green bands sit at Testing Stations No. 60 and 71, Piter's Net, Northwest Ironworks, The View and Eastern Comms (at the top of the building), and in the wrecks of the Pallas, Actaeon, Ourea, Tisiphone and Mithra. In the Pallas, cut the sealed door off the upper walkway with your Cutteray to reach the band; it opens the forcefield toward the bridge.
Where to find Orange ID Bands
Only eight in Hagga: inside Testing Station No. 2, two at the Wreck of the Mithra, at Keif's Triumph, Weather Top, The Depot, Mysa Overwatch and an enemy camp near Testing Station No. 163. The easiest one is in Testing Station No. 2: it lies near the entrance, so you get it on your first run.
Where to find Red ID Bands
Red bands exist only in enemy outposts, and they guard the rare chests: Arctus Cavern, Khidr's Shadow, Eastern Jumble, Darkwood Depot, Kel's Splinter, The Cells, The Beast's Claw, Edge of Acheron and one near Mysa Tarill. In Arctus Cavern the band lies right across from the locked door; in The Beast's Claw it is on the large desk in the central room above. Clear the guards before you go for the band: outposts are full of ranged enemies, and the rare chest is worth a careful approach.
White ID Band
You won't find a White band in Hagga Basin or the Deep Desert. Players found one in Testing Station No. 152, one of the overland stations on Greater Arrakis, where it opens white-door chests during an electric door puzzle.
ID bands by testing station
| Station | Bands near the entrance | Where inside |

| No. 17 | — | One Purple door |

| No. 163 | Purple | Purple in the left-most room after the drop to the lower level |
| No. 197 | Purple | The first band is Blue or Green, so take whichever you find; Purple in the ice room |
"—" means there is no band near the entrance; search deeper inside. Loot for each station is in Imperial Testing Stations, and the starter run is part of the early-game journeys.

ID bands in the Deep Desert
The Deep Desert changes with every weekly reset, so the pins live on the map, not here. In a recent week Purple bands were at numbered testing stations (No. 37, 93, 148, 185, 186 and 217) and at Buried Testing Stations, Blue at Testing Station No. 186 and at the wrecks of the Stasanor, Hicetas, Archidamas III and Proxenus, Purple at the Wreck of the Xenophon, and Green and Purple pairs at unrecovered shipwrecks. Open this week's Deep Desert with the keys layer on:
Read the Deep Desert guide before you go: most of it is PvP. Go with a group: if another player kills you there, you drop what you carry.
Common problems
- "I picked up a band but the door stays shut." Check that the colours match. A band only opens doors of its own colour.
- "The band is gone." Bands reset with the instance. Search the same spot again after a reset.
- "I can't find the band anywhere." Look behind Cutteray doors, in vents and on the far side of the room facing the door. Some bands only appear after the boss.
- "I'm looking for a yellow band." There is no Yellow band. Look for Orange.
How many ID band colours are there in Dune Awakening?
Six: Blue, Green, Orange, Purple, Red and White. There is no Yellow band; if someone says yellow, look for Orange.
Where do I find the ID band for a testing station door?
Inside the same station. Bands are placed in side rooms, on tables, behind Cutteray doors or after the boss.
Where are Red ID Bands?
Only in enemy outposts, such as Arctus Cavern, Khidr's Shadow, The Beast's Claw and Darkwood Depot. They open rare chests.
Do ID bands open doors in other buildings?
Bands are tied to doors of the same colour, and you find them in the building you need them for. After an instance resets, you pick them up again.
Is there a code for pentashield doors?
No. Testing station and shipwreck pentashields open with ID bands, not number codes.
