Where to Find Stravidium in Dune Awakening

Stravidium Mass is mined only in the Deep Desert, on rock outcrops it shares with titanium. Hagga Basin has none. You need a Cutteray Mk5 or better, and the rocks move every week, so check our live finder for this week's best sectors before you fly. Refine it into Stravidium Fiber at a Medium Chemical Refinery.

Where to find Stravidium in the Deep Desert

The Deep Desert is a 9×9 grid of sectors, rows A to I and columns 1 to 9, and every Coriolis storm moves its rocks and ore. Stravidium can spawn on most rock outcrops there, almost exactly the same spots as titanium.

The catch: most of them are a lottery. Each rock spot can give one of several ores, picked at random whenever a node spawns. This week's picture:

Stravidium is the rarer of the pair on mixed rocks, so the 50/50 spots are where you should spend your time.

The finder takes these odds into account. It shows pure islands (sectors with 20 or more stravidium-only spots) when they exist; otherwise it lists the three sectors where spots are most likely to roll stravidium.

What you need to mine Stravidium

• Cutteray Mk5, made at the Survival Fabricator from 30 Duraluminum Ingots, 14 EMF Generators, 12 Cobalt Paste, 8 Ray Amplifiers, 5 Thermoelectric Coolers and 350 ml of water.
• An ornithopter with cargo space, fuel cells and water. See how to get an ornithopter.
• A Medium Chemical Refinery at home. It is the only station that turns the mass into fiber, and it costs 150 Duraluminum Ingots, 75 Silicone Blocks and 40 Complex Machinery.

Silicone comes from Flour Sand (where to find Flour Sand), and Complex Machinery from loot (where to find Complex Machinery).

PvE or PvP Deep Desert

Since patch 1.3.20 each official world runs at least one PvE and one PvP Deep Desert instance, picked when you enter from the overland map. The PvE instance has no player combat at all. In the PvP instance, combat is open from row B onwards, but mining and harvesting yields in PvP areas are multiplied by 2.5. For a guild that can hold a sector, that turns one stravidium run into two and a half.

What Stravidium is used for

Stravidium Mass has one recipe: Stravidium Fiber.

And Stravidium Fiber has one use: Plastanium Ingot, one fiber per ingot together with 6 Titanium Ore (Medium Ore Refinery) or 4 (Large Ore Refinery), at 1,250 ml of water each.

So the ratio to remember is 3 stravidium for every 6 titanium on a medium refinery, or 3 for 4 on a large one. Bring stravidium home in that proportion and nothing sits idle.

Farming tips

• Target 50/50 spots. On mixed rocks stravidium is only about 13%, so you'll cut a lot of basalt and aluminum for little gain.
• Fly in soon after the Coriolis storm. The map is fresh, every node has respawned, and other players haven't stripped the best outcrops yet.
• Mine titanium and stravidium on the same trip. They grow on the same outcrops, and you need both.
• If your guild is short on time, look for Stravidium Fiber or Plastanium on the market.
